PHH Arval unveils Blackberry mobile app for fleets

18 Aug 2009

Designed to increase the productivity and satisfaction of it clients' fleet drivers, PHH Arval has launched a new mobile application.

PHH's mobile app is installed on fleet drivers' Blackberry devices, giving drivers immediate access to various PHH services and call centres, including help with accidents, maintenance, and other transactions. When a call to a PHH agent is initiated, the application automatically transmits information about the driver and the vehicle, eliminating the need for the driver to provide a vehicle unit number, driver ID or service card number.

Subsequent phases of the app will include additional functionality and make it available on other wireless devices.

Scanning the broader technology horizion for new inventions that might solve a problem for a driver or fleet manager, the R&D team at PHH Arval's Innovation Centre specialise in rapid prototyping and piloting of the next generation of innovative fleet applications. According to PHH Arval's chief information officer, David Zuidema, this first-to-market mobile application is just the beginning of a new wave of technology advances the company has planned.
