The first-ever vehicle Bluetooth hands-free kit has been launched by Michigan-based Guidepoint Systems.
Featuring free emergency dispatch and roadside assistance service, the new Guidepoint Connect uses Bluetooth technology to link drivers to Guidepoint's 24/7 response centres and can also be integrated with Guidepoint's GPS tracking unit to provide location-based services. Furthermore, the Guidepoint Connect system offers hands-free cellphone and integrated music control.
Alongside with the standard dial and hang-up buttons, Guidepoint added two additional ones to the unit: a direct connection to Guidepoint's response centres and a white-cross button that can be integrated with Guidepoint's GPS tracking device (sold separately) for one-touch emergency dispatch, stolen vehicle recovery, online vehicle tracking and pinpoint location-based services.
"As more and more states enact and enforce driver distraction laws, we believe Guidepoint Connect will be a great accessory for driver safety and convenience," said CEO Rand Mueller.
