Berg Insight's third edition of the Car telematics and wireless M2M report reveals that OEM telematics don't effect the European market.
New innovations in the automotive sector can reach the market through car fabricants, who implement new features or through aftermarket vendors, who develop products, that can be installed regardless brand or model. The Berg Insight report showed that the European OEMs have hardly interest in developing systems by themselves and that the European market is dominated by aftermarket products. As the car telematics market consisted of national players with strong local positions and pan-European players operating on several markets, OEM telematics have to effect the industry with a restricted availability of several brands and models.
