HANNOVER, Germany - The CeBit 2008 took place from March 4 to 9, organized by „Deutsche Messe AG". Representatives from economy, science and policy presented and discussed their visions of the future.
What the CeBit 2008 was about
The CeBit 2008 was devided into four show areas: Business Solutions, Public Sector Solutions, Home & Mobile Solutions and Technology & Infrastructure. The IT-Sector was a great success. The IT-Fitness initiative caused many students and apprentices to vist the CeBit. Due to the International Women's Day the Women@CeBit campaign was initiated. Consequently the count of female visitors rose.
How to Improve Life for the Global Village was the topic of the "CeBit Global Conferences". The recordings of the keynotes dealing with new trends at the IT-sector can be found here: http://www.cebit.de/51639.
With the "Planet Reseller" the CeBit installed a platform for manufacturers, distributors, system intergrators, industry associations and retailing cooperatives. Therefore more than 150 exhibitors presented their products and solutions to the distributive trades.
Telematics & Navigation becomes more important in every day life. The market for mobile communication as well as for telemtics and navigations is steadily rising. As a consequence traffic telematics like data mining, processing, and terminal equipment was a big topic at CeBit 2008.
Antoher highlight were the "Automotive Solutions". It was demonstrated how traffic could be made more fluent or how the danger of accidents could be reduced.
