Published in December 2008, Mobile Internet 2010 is Berg Insight's new report discussing the expected developments in mobile Internet usage and applications in the coming years.

While the number of PCs in use now exceeds one billion, with 1.5 billion Internet users, there are more than four billion mobile subscribers. This is an indication for the growing potential of mobile Internet, especially considering that 58% of the world's installed PCs are in markets that account for only 15% of the world's population - i.e. for the majority of potential users, the handset is their main Internet terminal.

Discussing significant Internet trends that application designers and providers need to consider, like how social services become more sophisticated, content sharing is evolving into content collaboration and that information is increasingly becoming available for free while filtering and attention are value-added features that come with a price.
