OnStar opens Crisis Assist emergency services to people concerned by Dolly

General Motors' communication provider OnStar offers its Crisis Assist to all subscribers affected by hurricane Dolly, regardless of their subscription plan.
All subscribers in Southeast Texas are reminded that their OnStar button will put them in contact with specially trained crisis advisors helping with:
- GPS positioning (locate users and contact emergency responders with GPS related technology)
- Emergency Services Notification (inform appropriate public safety officials about a subscriber in need of emergency assistance)
- Emergency calls (Connect subscribers to family and friends.)
- Emergency directions (Provision of real-time crisis information and centralised assistance for food, water, shelter locations and hotel accommodation, as well as information on road closures, power outages, and weather updates)
