Octo Telematics a Finalist for Two Telematics Awards

An independent panel of industry experts from the digital automotive, mobile and web industries has selected Octo Telematics as a finalist in two categories for the 2010 Telematics Awards. According to Telematics Update, Octo was selected from among hundreds of companies who nominated themselves or their partners and clients through the Telematics Awards website.

Octo Telematics is one of 10 top finalists in the "Best Embedded Telematic Service" category. The Oracle database connectivity developed for the Octo Multiservice Centre is world-class and has already connected over a million vehicles for service delivery to more than 50 insurance companies - including all of the top five European Insurance Groups - for integrating with different enterprise IT systems. Procedures are internationally certified ISO 27001 with dual redundant data sites.
Octo Telematics was also selected as a finalist in the "Best Aftermarket Device" category, for the Clear Box RC09. The device, designed and manufactured by Meta System S.p.A., provides for robust and reliable data connectivity to the Octo Multiservice Centre to enable more accurately pricing auto insurance, location-based antitheft tracking, crash notification, dynamics reconstruction and crash kinematics, vehicle diagnostics and fleet management, as well as real-time floating car and environmental impact analysis.
The Telematics Awards winners will be announced on June 7th, the eve of the 10th annual Telematics Detroit Conference and Exhibition.
