GPS fleet management software provider, Telogis Inc. has bought a devision of United Technologies Corp, which expands its business in the insurance market. The acquisition, which terms were not disclosed, includes UTC's Onboard Advisor, a loss prevention service offered exclusively by Liberty Mutual Agency Corp. and NavLogix subscription service.
Telogis' software helps companies with location technology and services, completing its fourth purchase in three years, after bying Intergis in February, Remote Dynamics Inc. in 2010 and Darby Corporate Solutions in 2009. The company's CEO, Dave Cozzens said, "This (UTC) acquisition positions Telogis for growth in insurance telematics... (which) is growing rapidly and there is a great opportunity to apply our advanced location intelligence and sophisticated data analytics in ways that will revolutionize how insurers serve their clients." The purchase diversifies Telogis' customer base with all sizes of companies "ensuring a strong revenue stream and flexibility to pursue additional expansion", he added.
Recently named one of Orange County's fastest growing companies, Telogis has been on Inc. magazine's list of 5,000 fastest growing U.S. companies for five straight years.
