Octo Telematics, a MetaSystem Group company, both forerunner and global market leader in research, development and management of insurance telematics applications for the automotive sector, announces new agreements for the provision of cutting-edge insurance telematics applications in France with Amaline Assurances, a Groupama company and Aviva. With these two partners, the company is now doing business with 36 client-insurance companies worldwide.
Thanks to Octo Telematics' integrated telematics solution, Amaline Assurances launched Amaguiz, the new generation "Pay Per Use" insurance dedicated to all drivers that offers extremely competitive rates and allows the client to pay according to kilometres driven.
The innovative telematic platform Clear Box, installed on-board, tracks data through GPS and forwards them to the company's Multiservice Centre via the GPRS mobile network. Information is then elaborated and made available to the insurance company that shares them with their policy holders. Amaguiz also includes the possibility for the user to choose among a range of value added service options, developed and managed by Octo Telematics, namely crash management in case of a car accident, precise crash dynamics reconstruction and stolen vehicle recovery.
From the 19th of September, Aviva France is testing in Paris its brand new usage-based insurance 'Pack Avantage Kilometers', before the national launch scheduled for 2009. Thanks to Clear Box the new insurance product allows young drivers, aged between 18 and 25 years and never insured, to benefit from lower premiums and costs.
Octo Telematics is also consolidating its operations in the Spanish market as the official provider of the Mapfre "Generation Y project." This innovative project aims at promoting a more responsible use of the vehicle amongst young people through a new insurance model. Today, "Generation Y" has already reached 10.000 subscribers.
Among the company's success stories, Harald Trautsch, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Octo Telematics, has been officially nominated by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology as their Delegate for the European Commission's eCall Implementation Platform.
