Dash opens platform to developers

Dash Navigation announced to allow developers to create dynamic LBS applications for its connected PND Dash Express. Developers can bring dynamic, location-based content to the Dash Express via this program called DashApps.

Furthermore Dash revealed its first five partners: Realtor Coldwell Banker ("Coldwell Banker Home Search" button), Funambol (online calendar), Mediaguide (automatically name three latest songs played on favorite FM radio), Trapster (speed trap POIs visualization and update) and Weatherbug (local weather).
According to Dash's content development evangelist Chris Butler, Dash is the first Internet-connected GPS company to open its service platform to developers and help consumers customize their GPS to their liking"These early applications are just the beginning - the possibilities are endless, " he said.
