‘11 88 0’ launches free mobile local search and nav service based on amAze

Telegate and LocatioNet Systems collaborate to launch new free ad-funded local search and GPS navigation service for mobile phone users.

Allowing users to search for any business name in Germany in the comprehensive ‘11 88 0' database, the service views the search results on a detailed map and provides voice guided directions to the required business with one click of a button. Furthermore, the (integrated or external) GPS receiver indicates the user's location along the route with clear turn-by-turn vocal and visual guidance to the destination via the shortest possible route.

Based on LocatioNet's amAze, the new service provides a useful mapping and local search tool even without the presence of a GPS, with user-friendly access to rich databases of maps, directories and weather, as well as the option to calculate best routes between any two points.

The ‘11 88 0' directory service currently covers Germany, while the mapping and navigation service covers Europe, North America, the Middle East, Australia, parts of Asia and South Africa, with wider coverage added constantly.
Based on the emerging ad-funded business model, the service is free of charge and ad banners will be presented to users only during phone idle-time.
