HI Corporation Joins Linux Foundation and Automotive Grade Linux

HI Corporation, ("HI", HQ in Shinjuku, Tokyo, president is Tomonobu Aoyama) announces that HI joined The Linux Foundation and Automotive Grade Linux.

Automotive Grade Linux is a collaborative open source project that aims to accelerate the development and adoption of a fully open software stack for the connected car. Leveraging the power and strength of Linux at its core, AGL is uniting automakers and technology companies to develop a common platform that offers OEMs complete control of the user experience so the industry can rapidly innovate where it counts. The AGL platform is available to all, and anyone can participate in its development.

HI is aiming to provide the application platform such as our own HMI development tool "exbeans® UI Conductor" and Telematics Product "exbeans® Affinity", that accelerate the realization of IT services for Connected Car by OEMs, Tier 1s, and service providers. By joining the AGL, HI is, not only providing existing products, but also making our future HMI and Telematics software for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and Auto Pilot targetting Level 2 of NHTSA guide line, compatible with AGL platform, to contributes for the realization of more convenient and safe car.
