Hegemon PLC readers & tags get E-mark approval

Hegemon Electronics' PLC system reader and tag has received the E-mark certification for use in installations requiring the European approval.

Establishing the Hegemon implementation of the PLC4Trucks as the international standard in tractor/trailer related communications, this expands the global market for the PLC4Ttrucks protocol. The system is cost effective and reliable, offering 100% positive connection between tractor and trailer. The Hegemon PLC solution transmits further the unit's ID and on/off hook status to the dispath center, when interfaced with an in-vehicle OBC.

The system is able to connect multiple units in a train and to transfer reefer unit data and interface to other monitoring devices such as tyre pressure sensors, brake stroke indictors, etc. The reader device can be supplied with a range of interfaces including serial, J1708, TTL, and CanBus for customer-specific interfacing, allowing for a fast and cost effective implementation.
