A new Windows-based application developed by GuidePoint will allow users of a new Visteon Navigation System to gain access to the internet in their car or truck.
As part of an agreement calling for GuidePoint to provide connectivity and driver safety/convenience services on the Visteon Navigation System, a new radio-navigation unit has been developed. It will be integrated with a GuidePoint module delivering internet connectivity and GPS tracking capabilities to the vehicle.
Additionally, the company will provide location-based content and services exclusively for the new radio-nav unit, expected to be available in July 2009. With its 24/7 response centres and technology infrastructure, GuidePoint will be able to run emergency and concierge as well as location-based traffic and weather information services round the clock
