TNT has awarded a four-year truck & container tracking contract to the Astrata Group for its entire Asia Road Network.
Linking 127 cities in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Cambodia in its 7,500 km network, the region-wide asset tracking solution includes Astrata's anti-hijack protection, which enables the remote immobilisation of a vehicle that is stolen, hijacked or appears to be driven erratically.
Include GPS, driver ID, two-way voice, immobiliser (horns and blinkers), panic button, and cargo door sensor, Astrata's GLP100 (Geo-Location Platform) will be fitted into TNT's fleet of trucks and containers to enable real-time monitoring, secure communications and expandability to other sensors, effectors and data devices.
TNT will host Astrata's latest software, Sirius Web 2, at its 24/7 monitoring centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Offering advanced, critical event alert management and the ability to send commands to the vehicle, the primary focus will be to ensure that vehicles do not deviate from predefined and approved routes as well as detect unauthorised stops and cargo door opening.
