Airbiquity deploys 10 million telematics solutions

Already deploying more than ten million of its aqLink in-band software modem technology with major customers such as Onstar/GM and BMW, Airbiquity is launching it in the coming weeks with Ford Sync.

The company's aqLink technology enables enables secure reliable two-way data connections between vehicles and telematics service providers either over the cellular voice network via an embedded module or wirelessly through a Bluetooth hands-free system.

With its in-band modem technology solution, considered as part of the standardization, Airbiquity is also an active player in the European eCall initiative.

The aqLink full-duplex modem features a number of telematics applications, including SOS emergency service and automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle tracking and slowdown, concierge services, remote diagnostics, vehicle health reports and infotainment applications.
