The European in-car electronics company Takara presented yesterday an in-car solution combining autoradio and navigation system at an affordable price.
The "GPV1004" has a four inches touch screen, a radio, a MP3-player and a DVD player featuring the Nav N Go navigation software iGo. The GPS-enabled device offers map data from TeleAtlas and can play music from the SD or USB port and media such as DVD, CDR, CDRW and audio CDs.
Takara made compromises on the screen-size and stripped down some common features like DIVX and WMA, but as a consequence the device is able to compete against high end PNDs.
